Blue and You Sensory Garden

Sensory Garden: A Space for Exploration and Inclusion
In 2019, the Little Rock Zoo unveiled its Sensory Garden, a unique outdoor play area designed to engage the senses and inspire creativity. Made possible by a grant from the Blue and You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas, this vibrant space replaced the old Kiwanis playground and is nestled between the Arkansas Heritage Farm and the flamingo habitat.
The garden features tactile play elements, fragrant plants, and sound structures that invite children to explore and engage with their environment. Designed to be inclusive, the space is fully accessible for individuals of all abilities, offering a welcoming environment for children and adults with disabilities. Whether you’re touching, smelling, listening, or simply enjoying the fresh air, the Sensory Garden is a place where creativity and outdoor activity come to life.
